Did Someone Suggest A Hunger Strike?

On October 2, 1947, the Medinat HaYehudim (2,664 passengers) was intercepted by the Royal Navy.  One 6-month old baby did not survive the tear gas attack the British Navy used to quell opposition to the boarding.  Here, Chaviva's father holds up her lifeless body before the press:
