An Opening Statement in Debate

Pressured by an upcoming debate you are to have with an Arab or worse, a Jewish anti-Zionist?

Try this as an opening statement:

"The modern Arab-Israel, or Zionist-Palestinian or Jewish-Islamist conflict, began when Arabs swept out of the Saudi Arabian Peninsula as emissaries of a new religion and in 638 CE or so, conquered Jerusalem, occupied the country and within a short time, despite relative religious tolerance, effectively destroyed Jewish social and economic life in the country and, in turning them into dhimmis, pursued a political policy of dominance, oppression and disempowerment.  In the years leading up to, but not including the 1948 war, Jewish residing in communities in Gaza, Nablus, Hebron and other locations in Judea, Samaria and Gaza where Jews were for centuries, were, during the Mandate period, ethnically cleansed of Jews and this exercise was then carried out during the 1948 war.  Jews became refugees as a result of Arab terror and aggression not only in the Land of Israel but throughout Arabs lands across the Middle East, hundreds and hundreds of miles away."
