Is it true the sergeants were sympatheitc to the zionists and that one may even have been a Jew?

None were known to be in anyways sympathetic.

One was born Jewish but it seems he wasn't aware of the fact himself. He never mentioned this biographical fact to his captors and it only came to light in 1981.
