If You Don't Like Someone, You Can Call Them...

I found these terms in a letter discussing Ben Johnson and his critics, among others, of Gabriele Bernhard Jackson of the Department of English, Temple University, Philadelphia:

“thou thin-bearded hermaphrodite”,
“‘copper-faced rascal",
“my Saracen’s-head at Newgate”,
“you brown-bread-mouth stinker”,
“saffron-cheek sunburnt gipsy”,
“low-minded pigmy”,
“hungry-face pudding-pie-eater”,
“my ningle”.

terms of endearment, surely.
