Who Will Invite the C-G to a Jewish Olive Harvest Event?

Olive Harvest is graced with the presence of US Consul General:-

US Consul General Daniel Rubinstein joined Prime Minister Fayyad in the West Bank town of Aboud on Sunday to take part in the community's annual olive harvest. The Consul General also met with the Palestinian Minister of Agriculture and members of the local community.

Commenting on the significance of the event, Mr. Rubinstein said that "The symbolism of the olive harvest to Palestinian identity and Palestinian political aspirations is clear, and I am pleased to be able to be here today to underscore US support for the Palestinian people."

For more information please contact the Consulate Press Office at 02-622-6909 or Information Assistant Hassna Dajani at 054-542-0943.

Jews also hold their olive harvest is great symbolic value.

In the Talmud Yerushalmi, Bikkurim 63: "No house is but these two things olive and fig trees"

In the Midrash Shemot Rabba 36: "Israel is called olive - they illuminate all"

The Talmud Bavli, Bava Batra 90B: "No fruit are to be exported from Eretz-Yisrael, those that possess existential value to a person such as wines, oils".

During olive harvest, one stayed up in the tree and even prayed as in Tosefta Berachot 2:8.

Anyone for inviting Mr. Rubinstein to our harvesting?

UPDATE

Just checking and found tghis about the above event:

Date :11 Oct 2009
Press Release
PM Fayyad in AboudVillage to inaugurate Olive Season for 2009

The Palestinian people accompanied by their PM Salam Fayyad start picking up their olive fruits throughout all Palestinian towns, cities and villages. Inauguration of olive season in Palestine started today, Oct. 11th 2009, from Aboud village north of Ramallah.

Its worth mentioning here that farmers in the Palestinian territory are suffering many restrictions and harassments by Israeli extremist settlers while harvesting their olive fruit. In a statement issued by the settlers a few days ago and distributed near West Bank cities, the Israeli extremists say they will escalate their attacks and plan to steal the fruits of the Palestinian olive trees. They are becoming more dangerous during Palestinian olive harvest season.

Supported by the Israeli army, settlers are moving forward with their criminal activities that include destruction and confiscation of Palestinian olive trees and burning of their fields, and attacks on farmers and their properties. Furthermore, the settlers say they intend to openly incite against the international and Israeli solidarity groups that accompany the Palestinian farmers.

I am sure the C-G does not identify in the unsubstantiated propagandistic ranting.
