Will the Police Protect the Temple Mount?

The Islamists are revving up the hype, again:

Dozens of Jewish settlers stormed on Sunday morning al-Aqsa mosque from the Maghareba gate, under the protection of the Israeli police...nearly 40 rabbis and Jewish religious leaders stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in two groups and toured its courtyards.

Media Coordinator of the Foundation, Mahmoud Abu Atta...pointed out that the Jewish settlers’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque became almost daily routine, and warned that they might intensify their raids during Jewish holidays early next month.

But the dangerous part is this development:

Sheikh Raed Salah...leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel...called this weekend for Israeli Arabs to block Jewish access to the Temple Mount with their bodies.  Salah warned his listeners that Israel is planning to “break in” to the Temple Mount, on which the Al Aqsa mosque now stands...Salah called on Muslims from across Israel – from the Negev and Galilee, Akko and Haifa – to come prevent the “dangerous mass invasion into Al Aqsa” with their bodies.

It is not dangerous because Salah is a danger that cannot be contained or curtailed or even jailed.

It is dangerous because the police are relatively subservient to Islamist threats and provocations.  If they want to, they can deal with violence or the 'promise' of such.  The operative word, though, is "if".

Premise 1: our rights to this land are based on a Book.

Premise 2: So, we have to see exactly what the Book says.

Observation 1: The Book says that the Registrar of Land Deeds appointed David's family over us.

Observation 2: The choice of appointing Aaron's family over us was available - that choice was declined. A non-Priestly family was chosen.

Conclusion 1: The current instantiation of the Davidic Royal Hose is - the IDF, which demonstrates its legitimacy by announcing which IDF unit will be associated with which Coat of Arms (aka shoulder patches). And power is shared with other civil elements which demonstrate their legitimacy by key ministerial acts such as as approving designs for Coats of Arms for Municipalities.

Throughout history in the entire world, only sovereigns have exercised this power. It is the everyday marker of sovereignty.

Conclusion 2: The Rebbinical Establishment has never even dreamed of exercising such sovereign ministerial acts.

Conclusion 3: The claims of Women of the Wall are no less legitimate than those of the Rebbinical Establishment.

PLEASE NOTE: no appeals are being made to morality, nor to "feelings". Nor is any claim being offered that Anat Hoffman is not a rent-seeking racketeer, same like the Rebbe's.

This is all about whose elbows can push whose. That is how the Registrar of Land Deeds decided it will be. Those who don't like this reality, are welcome to move to Monsey.
