Comments of the Op-ed: Raping as 'resistance'

Some people don't comment on the blog (and you can see the talkbacks at the JPost site), so here are some that come straight into the mail box:

I read your article in the JP today, thanks for writing it, I wonder if there will be a response. Your article reminded me of something I read so long ago that I can no longer remember where. One of the Israeli papers had an article about one of the women lawyers who represented Arab terrorists, I don't remember her name. She subsequently appeared on German TV where she stated that the Jewish soldiers were so racist that they refused to rape the Arab women when they entered the Arab villages on their various missions. I think that I remember that she was asked to leave the show.

First of all, feminism has nothing to do with left or right. But that's not what this is about. If these guys were just regular run-of-the-mill mean old rapists then there would be no need to take notice? Yeah, maybe rapists should get the death penalty but if so not just because they claim that it's 'resistance'. Maybe we should be asking why women's issues are ignored by the right except when they can find a way to use it as a debating point.

If Katzav hasn't been tried and found guilty then neither have these rapists. But women who work for the president aren't any fairer game than women who hitch-hike in the Gallil.

Suppose a bunch of Arab car thieves claimed that they were stealing cars from Jews as a way of undermining the Zionist ecomony, to bring the oppressors to their knees would you believe that too? I think you've taken this too far.

Letter from Ruth Matar (Women in Green) Jerusalem
Thursday, March 22, 2007

Dear Friends,

In today's Jerusalem Post (March 22, 2007) there is a worrisome article by Yisrael Medad, entitled "Raping as 'resistance'". A gang of Arab youths have committed a series of rapes in the Galilee area. According to this gang, the rapes were perpetrated as a form of nationalist vengeance against IDF operations in Judea, Samaria and Gaza.

The innocent young Jewish girls are physically attacked and violently raped. It is not because they are provocatively dressed. Their sole "provocation" is being Jewish!

Humanitarian groups in Israel and abroad, which define themselves as Liberal or Left, have been rightfully vociferous in condemning rape used in the course of war, as in Bosnia, Rwanda, the Congo and Darfur.

And, of course, there are no words of condemnation from the new Hamas-Fatah unity government!

Dear Friends: The lives of rape victims of whatever age are forever negatively affected. Let us raise our voices against this Arab abomination! Only strong worldwide expressions of horror at this inhuman form of warfare against Jews will be affective!

With Blessings and Love for Israel,

Ruth Matar

Modern feminism is marxist. They took the class struggle and replaced it wth the "gender" struggle, replaced the capitalist pigs with the male chauvinist pigs, and built an insidious pacifism around it that has castrated the West. Wake up and smell your neutering. Look all around you: the Left's leading ideology is feminism, and the Right doesn't get it at all.

Also the second part of this:

and much more...
