This Isn't Antisemitic; Its Antisettlerism

Haaretz, Febraury 5, 2007, page B1

This a stereotyping at its worse.

Two 'settler' types, singing a Tu B'shvat (Arbor Day) children's song, are going off to cut down Arab olive trees.

A. I can't recall any 'settler' being indicted and for sure, not found guilty, of cutting down trees.

B. It just so happened that Arabs cut down Jewish saplings on Tu B'shvat at a place called Sdeh Boaz where "settlers" - we know them as Jewish revenants - live.

C. Remember this item:-

4 PA Arabs Caught Cutting Down Olive Trees
Nov 21, 2006

Four Palestinian Authority Arabs were caught by Samaria district police Tuesday evening as they were trying to cut down olive trees.

The four claimed they were working for the owner of the property, who sent them to cut down the trees. Police launched an investigation to question the owner and determine whether the four have been involved in similar incidents in the past. They were held for questioning.

So, we have, thanks to Haaretz, a new word: antisettlerism.
