I saw this headline:-
Israel Kills 2 Palestinians In Gaza: Medical Workers
which I spotted at the New York Times web, originating at REUTERS.
I presumed that many other, many tens of hundreds of thousands of readers, like me, thought that the two Pals. killed were...medical workers.
They weren't.
They were:-
two Palestinians approaching the fence after they ignored shouted orders to stop and warning shots.
Couldn't the headline editor have written:
Health Aides: 2 Gazans Shot by Israeli Soldiers ?
a) it's shorter;
b) it's clearer;
c) "Israel" doesn't kill, it's soldiers do;
d) no Pals., only Gazans.
That's what I would call fairer media practice.
