Yisrael Medad, a resident of the Jewish West Bank settlement of Shilo and a volunteer spokesman for the Jewish communities there, said that the claim in the report that the barrier can be a "matter of life or death" for Palestinians is a "classic example of perverting morality."
"They seem to prefer that Jews and Arabs die rather than seeing Israel even in a stopgap manner halting the cycle of death and terror," Medad said in a telephone interview.
Medad said that the report had it backwards when it claimed that Israel was imposing "collective punishment" on the Palestinians by erecting roadblocks and placing travel restrictions on them.
"If there is any collective punishment, it is that of the Arabs who single out every single Jew as a legitimate target for their illegitimate terror," said Medad. No international body has ever condemned the terrorism in the same manner that it has condemned Israel's right to self-defense, he said.
