The Policeman who was stabbed

In the afternoon of last Wednesday, news reports filtered out that a policeman had been stabbed by a demonstrator at Amona. The policeman was injured by someone who picked up a sharp object from one of the blockades.

Friday's Yedioth Ahronot has a picture of the policeman and a story about him.

First thing is that his name is Arbel.

Second thing is that "he" is a horse.

Now, I am not suggesting that animals serving security forces are to be treated in a violent way just because they are animals and that human beings should not.

But, on the other hand, the police should not mislead the public and publicize that a policeman ("shoter" שוטר in the original Hebrew announcement) was stabbed when it was a police horse.

If so, so wisecracker might say that policemen are animals and that wouldn't be nice, right?
