And Why Is It "Arab East Jerusalem"?

Did you ever wonder why in Jerusalem we have a unique geo-political terminology: "Arab East Jerusalem"?

It is because the Arabs ethnically cleansed the Jews from the area following the 1948 war and worked hard to erase the historic Jewish connection from the city.

In the 1949 Ceasefire Agreement, Jordan was obligated to appoint a committee to deal with the issue of free access of Jews to the holy sites including the Western Wall and the cemetery on the Mount of Olives as well as cultural institutions. That never happened.

Instead, Jordan cut roads through the cemetery and used the tombstones for paving and latrines in Jordanian army camps. Tombstones were also stolen and used in other construction sites. More than 50 synagogues, libraries and Jewish schools were deliberately destroyed or defaced. The Cave of Shimon the Just was used as a horse stable.

This followed a pattern for already in 1936-39, during the riots and 'disturbances', Jews were forced to leave the so-called Muslim Quarter.

Judenrein you say? You said it and they did it.
