The Stage is Set: The Bet HaShalom Showdown

As reported already:-

The Supreme Court has ordered the nearly 100 residents of Beit HaShalom in Hevron – some 20 families and dozens of children – to leave the house within three days. If they do not do so, it is assumed that they will be forcibly removed, at a time and date to be chosen by the police and/or army.

The court also ordered the residents to pay 30,000 shekels – half to the State for court costs, and half to the former Arab owner.

The Supreme Court thus accepted the State’s position in full, ignoring a cassette recording of the Arab seller admitting to a good friend of his that he had sold the building to Jews.

The Court ruled that because of the “doubts” that have been raised regarding the occupants’ acquisition of the property – namely, the seller’s claim that he did not sell it - the situation should return to the previous status while the situation is resolved in a civil court.

BEIT HASHALOM

In light of the Israeli Supreme Court ruling ordering the evacuation of Beit Hashalom, the joint committee has met.

The committee is comprised of representatives of the Hebron Municipality, the Jewish Community of Hebron, the local council of Kiryat Arba, residents of Beit Hashalom, Committee for Chomesh First, The Land of Israel Faithful, Youth on Behalf of Eretz Israel, Women in Green, the Action Committee, Veyarashtem Otah, Matot Arim and Keness Nahalal.

It was decided to fight against the uprooting of the residents of Beit Hashalom in particular, and for the right of Jews to settle everywhere in the land of Israel, in general.

Decisions:

1. Additional families and public personalities will move in to Beit Hashalom
2. MK Harav Nissim Zeev has announced that he will move his office to Beit Hashalom in the next few days
3. An emergency meeting to launch the struggle will be held Tuesday 20 Cheshvan (Nov. 18) at 8PM in the Sport Hall of Kiryat Arba. At the meeting, we will call upon the public to join us in the struggle.

In addition, an assembly of Rabbis was held during which Rav Eliezer Waldman of the Nir Yeshiva called upon all Rabbis to come and defend Beit Hashalom with their own bodies. Other rabbis joined Rav Waldman in his urgent call – see attached list (*).

The leaders of the Jewish Community of Chevron who are currently in the U.S.A. for the annual Chevron Dinner, have cancelled their participation in the Dinner and are coming back immediately.

Newly elected head of Council of Kiryiat Arba, Malachi Levinger, has cancelled his scheduled trip in light of the impending threat of uprooting.

מתיישבי חברון רכשו את בית השלום כדת וכדין, הציגו מסמכי רכישה, ועדויות שמע וראייה המוכיחות את הקניה.הממשלה הזו בערוב ימיה, מתעקשת להוציא את רוכשי הבית מתוכו, בתחבולות משפטיות כביכול. לצערנו, הפרקליטות ובג"ץ התעלמו מאישורי הקניה על בית השלום והוציאו צווים כנגד זכות הקניין של היהודים על המקום.
יש לחזור ולהדגיש שאין שום היתר להחריב כל נקודת ישוב באץ ישראל ובודאי בליבה של הארץ-עיר האבות חברון.
ארץ ישראל כולה שייכת אך ורק לעם ישראל ואסור ליתן יד בכל צורה שהיא להגליית יהודים והחרבת נקודות יישוב.
ומכאן קריאת קודש לכל הציבור להתעורר, להגיע לחברון, ולמחות על גודל העוול של גזל הבית, ושאר גזרות המסכנות את מדינת ישראל וארץ ישראל כולה.
