More American Justice

At Debbie Schlussel:

OUTRAGE!: Hezbollah Spy Prouty Gets $750 Fine, NO JAIL TIME; Same for Sis-in-Law, but $500 Fine; Schlussel Cited in News Coverage

It's a great day in America for those who engage in sham marriages, immigration fraud, and spy on America on behalf of Hezbollah and other Islamic terrorist groups in America.

I hope you are as nauseated as I am that liberal Federal Judge Avern Cohn gave Hezbollah spy Nada Nadim Prouty a/k/a Nada Nadim Al-Aouar Deladurantaye Valley Prouty ZERO jail time and only fined her $750. This woman spied for Hezbollah, accessed records on the investigation of her brother-in-law, Hezbollah financier Talal Chahine, on his behalf, and gets zero jailtime, while Jonathan Pollard rots for life in prison for spying for an ally. A drunk driver does more time than this spy. Not a day in jail. For treason. Outrageous.

and a comment:

While I deplore the kid gloves treatment for Ms Prouty, she in no way compares to Jonathan Pollard and the damage he did to US intelligence efforts.

While he gave information to an ally, our ally used his information in a manner that had fatal results to American assets. Israel traded his information as an inducement for the Soviet's allowing most their Jews to emigrtate to Israel.

The information was specific enough for the Soviets to identify and permanently eliminate our sources. If you don't believe me, believe this: Louis Freeh (FBI Diector) and George Tenet (CIA Director) both threatened to resign on the spot if Clinton pardoned Pollard in the last days of his administration. Clinton backed off.

The Pollard case is a terrible example of an ally abusing our trust and an agreement not to conduct intelligence operations in the the US. But it continued well after Pollard with the purchase of a telecommunications billing company by an Israeli company that gave them knowledge of virtully every listed and unlisted number in the US. If you recall the taped conversation of Clinton talking with Lewinsky, that he didn't want to us the White House phone until it was fixed. this referred to the Israeli ability to intercept and directly deliver any conversation directly to Israel via secure (all cable) links they owned.

Please don't get me wrong, I firmly support the Israels struggle to survive. But there are times when best friends do the wrong thing.
