there is no legal way to postpone the elections scheduled for March 28. Justice Ministry sources later explained that a law enabling the Knesset to extend its term in an emergency applies only when it would be impossible to hold elections, such as during a war. Sharon's illness, however, clearly does not preclude elections.
I'll be in New York during the third week in March, for my niece's wedding, and will be travelling back on Monday, March 27th to arrive in Israel on election day.
