Amman When?

As far as I knew, the capital of Jordan, Amman, is built on the ruins of Rabbath-Ammon.

But now I read:

In the final decades of Ottoman rule, several waves of refugees from the Russian Empire's North Caucasus region immigrated to Transjordan, where they founded Amman and other agricultural villages.

That's from  Vladimir Hamed-Troyansky's article on Circassian Refugees and the Making of Amman 1878-1914.

The Jordanians are really late-comers.
