National Service

Girls who are religiously observant have the opportunity, when they reach the age of 18 and finish high school, to volunteer for national service instead of being mobilized into the army.

I have always maintained that the young women of Yesha communities make a major contribution to Israeli society in areas of education, health services, social welfare, etc.

The Shiloh weekly newsletter/bulletin came out this week and it lists the places where 13 of our girls will be serving next year.

Among them:

The Amidar Project, Jerusalem
Yokneam Group
Welfare Unit, Acco
Simcha LaYeled, Petah Tiqva
Aaronsohn Museum, Zichron Yaakov
Youth Movement Coordinator, Yonatan
Bet Shean Group
Assaf HaRofeh Hospital, Rishon L'Tziyon
Shaare Zedek Hospital, Jerusalem
Ramat HaSharon Group

I think that's a very good span of society contributions.

And that's only Shiloh.
