Request to Investigate Haaretz for Incitement Filed With AG

(IsraelNN.com) A request has been filed with the Attorney General to investigate the publisher of a caricature in the Haaretz newspaper for incitement. The request followed the publication of a caricature of a female settler pointing a gun at the head of an Israeli. The caricature was published by the 'Yahad' movement alongside the daily paper's headlines.
Yisrael Medad, a resident of the Shomron community of Shilo and the educational director of the Begin Center, petitioned State Attorney General Menachem Mazuz, asking that he announce the opening of an investigation on suspicion of criminal incitement against the Yahad/Meretz Party, the paper's illustrations editor Uri Zakai, and Haaretz itself.
The petition joins a similar one filed by MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) last month.
