About this:-

Hakim Awad, 18, was permitted to enter Itamar along with other PA Arabs in order to harvest olives.

The IDF Civil Administration allowed PA Arabs from the nearby village of Awarta to harvest olives within Itamar that they claimed belonged to their village, despite concerns voiced by Itamar residents, who expressed fear that some PA Arabs could use the opportunity to learn the layout of the town in order to plan an attack...Civil Administration officials insisted that Awarta residents not only be given possession of the olives in question, but be allowed to harvest the produce themselves.

Residents reported Sunday that one of the PA “farmers” had been caught red-handed as he took pictures of IDF positions in Itamar during the harvest. The man was detained for questioning, but released on the orders of the Civil Administration.

The security guard's report may explain a comment a Shin Bet official made regarding the murders. The Shin Bet man said the killers had not spied on the town prior to the murders, because they were already familiar with its layout.

The IDF and the Civil Administration face pressure each year from the PA and the foreign and Israeli left to allow Arabs to harvest olives freely, regardless of security concerns. Many far-left groups, among them the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) and Rabbis for Human Rights, hold annual “olive harvest” events aimed at forcing Israel to allow PA Arabs to enter Israeli land during the harvest.

Does Arik know who he assists? People like these:-

The father of one of the murderers of the Fogel family at Itamar had served in jail for terror, and an uncle involved in the 2002 terror attack on same community.

Two teenagers were arrested for the massacre of five members of the Fogel family. The father of high school student murderer Hakim Mazen Awad was active in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist organization and previously had been jailed in Israel.

Awad and Amjad Awad carried out the brutal murders at Itamar, the same community where Hakim Awad’s uncle was involved with the 2002 terrorist attack that killed five people. He was killed the following year in a clash with IDF forces.

Seems the Israeli 'peace camp' is a loser to the PA incitement campaign that raises murderers through school programs, media programs, summer camp program and produces programmed murderers who kill infants with knives.

Details on Murderers of Five Members of the Fogel Family

Following the 11.3.11 murders of five members of the Fogel family in the Samarian community of Itamar, the ISA, the IDF and the Israel Police began a joint operation to apprehend the murderers. During the operation, dozens of suspects from Awarta – approximately 2 kilometers southwest of Itamar – were detained for questioning. The investigation and intelligence efforts led to the arrest of two young men, residents of Awarta, who confessed to planning and perpetrating the murders, and reconstructed them:

Hakim Maazan Niyad Awad, born in 1993, a minor under Israeli law, was arrested on 5.4.11. A high school student, he is affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). He was involved in the October 2010 stabbing of youths from Awarta; the motive was a personal dispute.

Awad's father, Maazan, is a PFLP terrorist who, in the late 1990's, served approximately five years in a Palestinian Authority prison in connection with the murder of his niece and the burning of her body.

Awad's uncle, Jibril Awad, was a PFLP terrorist who was killed in a December 2003 clash with IDF soldiers. He had been involved in the 20.6.02 terrorist attack in Itamar, in which Rachel Shabo (40) and three of her children (Avishai – 5, Zvika – 13 and Neria – 16), and their neighbor Yosef Twito (31), were murdered.

Amjad Muhammad Fawzi Awad, born in 1992, was arrested on 10.4.11. A student, he is affiliated with the PFLP. He had previously worked as a laborer in Israel.

Hakim and Amjad planned to perpetrate a terrorist attack in Itamar several days before March 11. To this end, they tried to acquire a firearm. They turned to Muhammad Said Awad (now under arrest), a PFLP militant in Awarta, and asked that he procure weapons for them; he did not do so.

On March 11, Hakim and Amjad set out for Itamar, armed with knives and tools to cut the perimeter fence and cover their tracks. They crossed from Awarta to Itamar and climbed/jumped over the fence. Once inside Itamar, they proceeded to approach the first row of houses. They broke into a home adjacent to the Fogel residence but found nobody inside. They stole an M-16, clips and a flak jacket. They exited the home and thereupon burst into the Fogel residence. Having spotted children while still outside, they murdered 11-year-old Yoav and 4-year-old Elad. The assailants thereupon entered the bedroom where the parents, Ruth and Udi, were sleeping with 3-month-old Hadas and murdered all three, following a struggle. Before leaving the house, the murderers stole another M-16.

The murderers returned to Awarta on foot and went to the home of Hakim's uncle, PFLP militant Salah E-Sin Awad, and informed him of what they had done. Salah helped them hide the stolen weapons and knives, burn their bloody clothes. During the investigation, it arose that various members of their families were extensively involved in helping them and were fully aware of what they had done.

After March 11, the murderers returned to their daily routines. Salah gave the stolen weapons to Jihad Abid, a resident of Ramallah, who hid them in his home. The latter was arrested on 14.4.11; the weapons were recovered.

Arrested as accomplices were:

* Salah Aladin Salim Awad – born in 1979, a PFLP militant, Hakim's uncle;

* Hassan Salim Awad – born in 1972, a PFLP militant, Hakim's uncle;

* Maazan Niyaz Awad – born in 1967, a PFLP militant, Hakim's father;

* Jihad Abid – born in 1979, friend of Salah Awad, who hid the stolen weapons for Salah; and

* Muhammad Said Awad – born in 1984, a PFLP militant, whom Hakim and Amjad asked to provide them with a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.

"Knock, Knock"; "Who's There?"

Veteran readers of this blog are acquainted with Rabbi Arik Ascherman.  He heads the Israeli branch of Rabbis for Human Rights, another pro-Pal. Jewish organization that seeks to remove Jews from their historic homeland.  He has also, in my opinion, allowed himself to be used as a 'cover' in that Arabs who do seek to engage in violence and make false and unjust claims exploit his presence and relations with the media and progressive forces.

And he has been quite active in the Shiloh area although I am not yet aware that he has admitted that he lost a court case involving Shiloh.

Om any case, since he sees no problem in coming out to our homes, some Shiloh people decided they would visit his home.

'Rabbis for Human Rights' Accused of Inciting Violence

Activists from the Shiloh region in Samaria made their way to Jerusalem on Wednesday to protest outside the home of Arik Asherman, a Reform rabbi who heads the group Rabbis for Human Rights. The protesters accused Asherman of inciting violence in Samaria in the name of peace.

...Jews in the region say Asherman encourages PA Arabs to approach Jewish villages, where they often fight with Jewish youth. “The leftist activists and the Palestinians came up here to fight with the Jewish residents,” one resident said, referring to a fight last week near Shiloh in which three Jewish youths and one PA man were injured.

“We usually have good relations [between Jews and Arabs], but there are those who try to incite violence in order to make us look bad,” he said.

Another demonstrator criticized Asherman for planning to plant trees for PA residents on Tu B'Shvat, a Jewish holiday celebrating trees and the land of Israel. “Even on a Jewish holiday, he goes to celebrate with the Arabs,” he charged.

Asherman told Arutz Sheva that “we have a problem with the settlements... We need to end the occupation.” However, Rabbis for Human Rights avoids politics, he claimed, promoting any peace agreement “whether that means one state or two states or ten states, whether it means we evict all the settlers, or that they stay where they are.”...

His supporters, to say the least, were not sanguine about this expression of freedom of assembly, freedon of expression and freedom to protest.

The Israeli settler far-right, as part of its campaign of vitriol and intimidation is stalking Rabbi Arik Ascherman, founder of Rabbis for Human Rights. They will be demonstrating outside his home later today (Wednesday) against his alleged campaign to destroy Jewish sovereignty over all of historic Eretz Yisrael. The far-right says he “sabotages the redemption of the land” (using the term m’chabayl, the root of the Hebrew word for “terrorist” [which is not true.  L'chabayl is the Hebrew word for to destroy or as used in the Song of Songs:  "the little foxes that ruin / spoil the vineyards").  From there, modern Hebrew adopted the word, first for army sabateur - "chablan" and then to terrorist "m'chabayl"]. Interestingly, the Israeli police have provided a permit for this protest, while none of Sheikh Jarrah’s weekly protests ever received one.

Just caught this in The Forward, discussing Arab finances making their way to anti-Yesha activities, including Ascherman's RHR:

Arik Ascherman, executive director of Rabbis for Human Rights, which currently receives NDC funding, told the Forward: “The money is for the purpose of using Israel’s legal system to challenge takeovers of Palestinian land. Rather than saying that this is undermining Israel’s democracy, it is actually strengthening it by making sure people have access to the legal system.”

In light of the largest wave of the destruction and vandalism of Palestinian owned trees in at least 5 years, and levels of olive theft we have never seen before, Rabbis For Human Rights, along with the "Harvest Coalition" and other partners, will launch a campaign to plant peace, communication and love of the "other" in the hearts of the residents of the Holy Land. We will plant trees on the lands of the Palestinian village Mreir, next to the unauthorized outpost Adei Ad. This is one of the areas most plagued by the cutting down and poisoning of trees, as well as olive theft. Rabbis, the author Haim Guri, Israelis from all walks of life and Palestinian farmers will participate.

On every tree we will hang a special Jewish prayer written by RHR, along with verses from the Koran, hoping to remind all the Land's residents that trees are holy and it is forbidden to harm them in the midst of conflict and war.

The campaign is a result of the failure of the Israeli security forces to honor the Israeli High Court's decision in appeal 9593/04 (Brought by RHR, The Association For Civil Rights in Israel and 5 Palestinian local councils) obligating them to do more to prevent the damage and destruction to Palestinian trees. The IDF claims that it is impossible to protect every single olive tree. RHR demands that as a minimum the IDF take significant measures in the areas such as the lands around Adei Ad, where there is a long history of repeated incidents and a high likelihood of more incidents in the future. The IDF proved what is possible when they stationed border police around the Havat Gilad outpost for several months before, during and after the olive harvest, and incidents of attacks on person and property dropped close to zero. RHR, along with ACRI, Yesh Din, and B'Tselem, recently sent the army a table of incidents in 5 areas plagued by repeat incidents, including the lands of Mreir and adjacent Turmos Aya. We will be making this table available to the press in the next few days.

From that village came the murderers of Gideon Lichterman which happened in early May 2003:

Gideon Lichterman, 27, of Achiyah, east of Shiloh, was murdered by Palestinian terrorists last night on his way to give a ride home to a fellow resident. A member of the town's secretariat, he heard that a friend - Tamir Dar, 25, a reserve soldier - needed a ride back to the community, and he volunteered to make the short trip. Gideon took along his 6-year-old daughter Moriah, as his wife was not home at the time. Along the way, terrorists waiting behind one of the bends in the road opened fire and seriously wounded both Gideon and his daughter. The waiting soldier heard the shooting from where he was standing, ran to help, and was seriously wounded himself. Several minutes later, a passing driver, Yagur Rechelim, evacuated the soldier to a nearby army position, and called a friend from the area who found and brought Moriah to the same spot. Troops then went back to the scene of the attack to search for the driver, Gideon; he was found some 50 meters away from the car, where he bled to death after he went either to try to get help or to return fire against the murderers. The search for the terrorists continued this morning, after tracks of their getaway car were noticed at the scene.

The two wounded victims - 6-year-old Moriah Sara bat (daughter of) Leah Liat, and Tamir ben (son of) Tziporah - were flown by helicopter to a Jerusalem hospital, where they were operated on throughout the night. They are listed in serious but stable condition. Fatah - the PLO faction founded by Yasser Arafat and Abu Mazen - took responsibility for the attack.

And in January 2009, Yair Hirsch was shot and severly wounded in the arm by residents of the village.

These Human Rights Rabbis really know to pick a village of peace and coexistence, don't they?

Clergyman Arik Ascherman's Opinion

Elad is an extreme right wing NGO which is openly committed to "Judaizing" East Jerusalem and especially Silwan because it is "Ir David", the ancient City of David. The State has given over to them administration of the archaeological parks and digs, and they attempt to buy out and/or expel Palestinian residents of Silwan. Sometimes the sales are legal, in other cases they are not, and in other cases they may be technically legal but achieved through extremely unsavory methods.
