But Do Muslims Believe NYT's Reporting?

In New York, in a kosher restaurant, with a Muslim audience:

Israel’s Chief Rabbi Says Falsehoods Are Fuel for the Latest Violence

...the chief rabbi of Israel, David Lau, on Thursday... said they [Arab youths] have been told — falsely — that Israel intends to destroy Al Aqsa Mosque, part of a 37-acre compound in Jerusalem sacred to both Muslims and Jews.

“It’s a lie. It’s not true. No one wants to do it, not the government of Israel, of course, not religious rabbis in Israel,” Rabbi Lau said at the lunch. “We need to explain to people, it’s a big mistake, a big lie.”

...Al Aqsa is the third-holiest site in Islam, revered as the place to which the Prophet Muhammad traveled from Mecca on his sacred “night journey.” The mosque is part of the site known as the Temple Mount to Jews and the Noble Sanctuary to Muslims. It is administered by an Islamic religious trust known as the Waqf, under Jordanian supervision.

I'm just wondering, since most Jews do not believe the NYTimes' reporting on Israel, will Jews believe this and more importantly, will Muslims believe this or do they suspect it as well?
