Thanks to IMRA, and to NP, I was alerted to what Maj. Gen. (res.)
Shlomo Gazit published recently (in Hebrew). Gazit served as Coordinator of Israeli Government Operations in the Administered Territories right after the Six Days War and later, as the head of IDF Military Intelligence. Most infamously,
he compared the kippah wore by religiously observant soldiers in the IDF to Nazi insignia.
Here, translated from the Hebrew:
I just read Jabotinsky's famous "Iron Wall" article. His central thesis, already in 1923, was that there was no chance that the local Arab residents would accept our presence. They will always see us as foreigners trying to take over.
Just now he read this foundational article?
