Displaced Information

What do US servicemen and servicewomen know about Israel and its military?

This:-

The Israeli Defense Forces, or IDF, are a central part of a country formed as a home and refuge in disputed lands 61 years ago, after 6 million Jews had been killed in the Holocaust. At war continuously since then with the Palestinians they displaced, and viewed as having no right to exist by neighbors such as Iran, Israeli society has been built partly on the idea that projecting superior military strength is key to its survival.
Found here.

That was in the official Stars & Stripes

I sent in a complaint and noted:

I would suggest the term "displaced" in incorrect.

First of all, the armed conflict with local Arabs began in 1920 and continued through riots and murderous attacks all throughout the 1920s and 1930s.

Secondly, many Jews were also displaced and many more were forced to leave their homes in Arab countries. There was, to a great extent, an exchange of populations. And whereas, some 18% of Israel's population is Arab, who can vote and be elected, no Jews are permitted to reside in Jordan which was created also on territory originally meant to be part of Palestine.

Please reconsider. Perhaps a better phrase would be

"with the Arabs who left their homes, either forced by the battles or in anticipation of a victory over the Jews, and the surrounding Arab states..."
