A new film, "Amreeka," looks at the plight of two Palestenians from the West Bank, a single mother and her 16-year-old son, who immigrate to the United States.
Muna, a divorced woman, who along with her son Fadi has made the long trek from the West Bank to Illinois. They are staying with her sister, who arrived to the United States 15 years earlier and her family who have their fair share of conflicts...
...Overall it's interesting, but the movie really can't decide what it wants to be. Is it a hard-hitting look at the Palestinian immigrant experience in America or a gentler take on that subject?

Yisrael,
Netflix has a decent collection of Israeli movies. I have recently enjoyed Mivtza Yonatan (old movie, but new for me), but was quite disappointed by Medurat Hashevet where the moral of the story was that the religious Zionists should loosen up and have sex outside the confines of marriage and the world will be a better place. Many Israeli films seem to be extremely politically correct.
What films, current or past, would you recommend?
Rage and Glory by Avi Nesher on Lechi. Not bad actually.
