So, Who Is 'Full of Lies'?

Al-Jazeera reports:

Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, told Al Jazeera that Netanyahu’s speech was "full of lies".

He pointed out that, although Netanyahu spoke about "the moral bankruptcy and dangers of denying the Holocaust", it was in fact Israel that "committed the biggest massacre of the century" when it launched its attack on Gaza that killed more than 1,400 Palestinians in December and January of this year.

Lies?

Does Hamas lie?

Al-Jazeera?

Last May, four months later into the century, we read this:

Sri Lankan army accused of massacring 20,000 Tamil civilians in final assault More than 20,000 civilians were killed in the final government onslaught on the Tamil Tigers according to confidential United Nations estimates, it has been reported.

1400 (almost two-thirds of whom were terrorists) vs. 20,000?

You do the math.

There's no point debating numbers with people who simply make up, or ignore facts as they choose. As I wrote elsewhere,

"I've felt for a long time that this conflict has been perpetuated not by an unwillingness to find a compromise, but by the impossibility of compromising with enemies that are either delusional or pathological liars. No sane person would do this; yet apparently sane people feel no shame in demanding that WE do so. And these are the ones that consider themselves our friends. Um, thanks I guess. Sigh."

btw, I'm leaning toward 'delusional.' ;)

One can think of a few other massacres in the late 20the century that make the IDF's incursion into Gaza look like a picnic:

Rwanda 1990s
Somalia
Cambodia 1975
Uganda
Bosnia Herzogovina
Croatia
Ukraine 1930s
China 1962-1964
Syria 1972
Iraq 1985
Iraq - Iran 1980-1988
Southern Lebanon 1978-1982
Liberia
Sierra Leone
These are just a few that come to mind. I am sure you can do much better.
