I published yesterday an excerpt from the interview MK Shelly Yechimovitz in Haaretz.

Well, Haaretz had a purpose: aiding the wiping out of a candidate:

Disagreement over settlements surface in Labor Party race


MK Shelly Yachimovich, who is running for the Labor Party leadership, drew fire from her rivals and party activists after saying she does not see the settlements as "a crime."

MK Amir Peretz, also a Labor leadership candidate, said "the settlers aren't sinners...But Labor must say clearly: The settlement project is an injustice to Israeli society, to the underprivileged neighborhoods and towns in the periphery, which are the real Zionist goal."

Leadership candidate MK Isaac Herzog said on Israel Radio: "Yachimovich's position is not part of Labor's world view...Businessman Erel Margalit, another candidate, said by "aligning herself with the settlements she has betrayed the party's ideology."

Nice friends you have, Shelly.

Young Labor activists yesterday launched a protest campaign against Yachimovich's statements. Peace Now secretary general Yariv Oppenheimer said that to advance social issues, Yachimovich was supporting the settlements and cooperating with extreme rightist parties.

How Ehud Barak may resurrect his career, destroy his party, and save his country this week.

He also claims

Labor will add to this government's political stability, will make Netanyahu less dependent on the more radical elements of this coalition

Now, while I think most of Labor is radical, nevertheless the idea has merit if onkly to gut the Labor Party, finally.

Labor youth hand out condoms to avoid being 'screwed by Netanyahu'

The headquarters of the young activists on behalf of the Labor Party will hold a meeting over the weekend to discuss the creative and "naughty" activities they may take upon themselves to promote the party ahead of the February 10 elections... A discussion will be held on the role of the young activists in the campaign.

"The idea of the seminar is to examine how we as young people can take action," said Labor youth chairman Maayan Amodai. "Naturally we're the ones who will choose to do more crazy things, and will try to be naughtier and do things that the party itself wouldn't be as comfortable doing.

Among the naughty campaign plans is to hand out condoms at an event hall where rival party Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to speak, under the slogan "don't let Bibi screw you."

I, for one, would suggest Likud youth hand out rubber gloves and warn voters that if they think of touching a Labour Party election slip that they might catch something contagious and harmful.

P.S. You'll note that they didn't really hand out condoms but Haaretz wrote the headline as if it happened. Guess who is screwing who.

Labor Revenge

I blogged here at my Arutz Sheva blog on the deja vu of the allegations about religious revenge attacks on last night's Channel One TV's report. But it continues. Radio host Estee Perez repeats the "rabbinical incitement" claim.

Well, I found something.

But operationally, it only deals with excluding Arab labor.

And What Else Did Rami Do?

After Haim Ramon, Yoram Marciano, Moshe Katzav, Izik Mordechai and a few, er, a lot others, we now have a theater and film star accused of sexual peccadillos:-

Police question actor Rami Heuberger over alleged sexual harassment

Actor Rami Heuberger was questioned by Rehovot police investigators Monday on allegations of sexually harassing a make-up stylist on the set of a movie he starred in roughly one year ago.

The woman alleges that Heuberger harassed her while the two shared a cigarette break during filming of a student film at a town near Rehovot.

In his first public response to the complaint, Heuberger on Sunday said the allegations were 'fallacious and ugly."

And who is Heuberger?

Heuberger first rose to fame as a member of the television skit show Hahamishia Hakamerit. He later starred in numerous Israeli feature films, including the cult movie Mivtza Safta, and even landed a small role in director Steven Spielberg's Oscar-wining Schindler's List.

Well, there is at least one other role of his.

He starred in Labor party election commercials.

Good ol' Haaretz. Leaving out the messy political aspects.
