Noah Sails - On Clay

The design of the ark that Noah built resembled more of life raft than a seafaring ship. Its width took up about one-third of a football field — raising questions about all those animals. And it was likely built 2,000 years before the Bible was ever written.

If that doesn't sit well with Bible literalists, it's OK. Irving Finkel, a British archaeologist,

reached his conclusions through the translation of a rare cuneiform clay tablet. He promises that his presentation on these findings...

The discovery: A clay tablet, about the size of a soap bar, with cuneiform writing dating to 1800 B.C. That's about 3,800 years ago, or about 1,000 years before the Bible began to be written.

On it is a narrative about Atram-Hasis, a Sumerian King who lived before the flood and who is the Noah figure in earlier versions of the ark story, Finkel explained.

Still don't believe in the Bible?
