"Them" are the antisemitic conspiracists, who see a Zionist under every sofa and livingroom couch.
Well, I have finally appeared in one such rant having stumbled into the site, as usual, looking for asomething else, (found here) published early last month.
The excerpt:-
Jonathon Pollard was an American citizen who spied for the state of Israel and whose activities in the 1980s are considered by many to represent the most damaging intelligence breach in recent memory, not to mention causing the deaths of several American intelligence assets. Of all the individuals thus far mentioned in this paper, Pollard may in fact be the most recognized. Despite this fact and despite the fact that he was sentenced to life in prison for espionage, Israel has engaged in an aggressive campaign that includes AIPAC and even direct negotiations with past and present Israeli officials to have him freed and deported to Israel, where he is considered a hero. That’s right, a hero, an American who engaged in espionage against his own nation is considered a hero in the state of Israel.
Yisrael Medad, at the time a parliamentary aide to the Tehiya Party in Israel emphasized this fact in an article appearing in the Jerusalem Post in March, 1989, entitled “Jonathon Pollard is my Purim Hero,” where he proceeds to slavishly lather praise onto a man whose actions seriously compromised American National Security and caused the deaths of American intelligence assets on the ground.[31] Today, Medad “is responsible for Educational Programming and Information resources at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center,” and he is an “Op-Ed contributor to the Jerusalem Post, LA Times, International Herald Tribune, Sh'ma, Outpost, Israel Scene and other periodicals".[32]
Medad isn’t the only Israeli that’s thinks highly of Pollard, in 1998, Benjamin Netanyahu; the then Prime Minister of the state of Israel actually linked an Israeli-Palestinian land-for-security agreement with the release of Pollard.

Just to be clear on this.
I still think Jay is a hero, my hero. There is not a week that goes when I am not doing something to try to dislodge him from his cell. I visited him twice in Illonois and North Carolina. I was the coordinator for the Knesset lobby on his behalf for over five years. I was in touch with his first wife, Ann Henderson, her father, the official Israeli liason, Amnon Dror, his family, ministers, judges, Rabbi Avi Weiss and other public personalities.
I am frustrated that I wasn't able to do more and that the people I worked closely with, MKs Geula Cohen and Edna Solidar, were as frustrated as I was.
Curt Maynard should know that Pollard is a victim of the perversion of American justice. His fellow Jews ran scared. Other aides and advisors to politicians bought the lies fed to them from 'on high'. His human rights and civili liberties were subverted.
That is why his cause is just and right. And that is why Maynard and his warped thinking is not only wrong, but dangerous. Dangerous not only to Jews but to America.

What makes you say that Pollard is a victim of American injustice? Did he or did ne not steal information and pass it to Israelis? If he did, he's a traitor pure and simple. If he did not, why exactly is he your hero?
Curt Maynard
Brings up the whole dual loyalty issue.
So if he is not a traitor to america, than he was never loyal to america in the first place.
Win win in my view.
Dear Curt,
I never wrote he didn't commit a crime but that he was not a "traitor". He was mistakenly trying to help out America's ally when he found out that that ally's officials were betraying the intent of the cooperation that America and Israel had agreed upon relating to joint security concerns to the detriment of Israel.
You are aware of the Jonathan Pollard site. Check out a list of comparative sentences and ask yourself if unfairness is against American justice. And check out the remorse page to see if he hasn't recanted.
There's a lot more material there including Judge Williams' dissent which should open your eyes.
