Beckham, David - The Jewish Look (And Victoria's Too)

David Beckham, soccer/football great, was at the funeral of his grandad, Joseph West.

I have blogged previously about his religious background and that "Cruz Beckham, 3, will attend an "exclusive Jewish school" in the Los Angeles area that is "attached to a Jewish temple," the London tabloid magazine The Sun reported".

He has written:

In his first autobiography My World, Beckham talked about how his grandfather’s Judaism had influenced him, saying: "I've probably had more contact with Judaism than with any other religion."

"I used to wear the traditional Jewish skullcaps when I was younger, and I also went along to some Jewish weddings with my grandfather."

So, the kippah sat fairly comfortably on his head the other day:

His wife, fashion setter and no fashion-line designer, Victoria is not Jewish.

But King Solomon's words sit on the back of her upper back:

A better look of 'Ani L'Dodi V'Dodi Li, HaRoeh BaShoshanim', from the Song of Songs 6:3 \/ (although there's the reverse verse - 2:16)

Of course, to pun on the reputed "gold" remark, there's this verse, 5:15:

His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold;

However, she was also spied appareled in a style that would seem to be the exact opposite of anything Jewish:

But, we return to Song of Songs, 7:2

How beautiful are thy steps in sandals, O prince's daughter! The roundings of thy thighs are like the links of a chain, the work of the hands of a skilled workman.
