Pics of Obama's Reaction to the Mention of Netanyahu's Name

Hi Mr. Medad,

Thanks for posting these interesting pictures of the President Obama on your web site. I especially like the last ("SNOB") image, for it succinctly reflects what I believe was the actual - albeit unspoken - appeal of Barack Obama to many of the upper-middle and upper class "professionals" who voted for the man. That is, paralleling the infatuation of secular professionals with the environmental movement described by Ted Nordhaus and Michael Shellenberger in their penetrating article "The Green Bubble" in the 5/20/09 issue of The New Republic, a vote for Barack Hussein Obama was what I'd deem "positional voting". It distinguished supporters of Obama - within the context of their own self-perception - as members of an intellectual and cultural elite. (Certainly not in reality!)

I drew this conclusion early on, via casual conversations with random acquaintances and friends, and it was corroborated within a fascinating article by Joshua Green in The Atlantic, entitled "The Amazing Money Machine". The proverbial "money quote": Namely: "But more than any policy, the idea of Obama and the world he speaks for seemed to excite something deep within the limbic system of the Valley brain that manifested itself through the early and continuing financial support that was crucial to launching Obama's campaign. Getting behind Obama, especially for those who did so early, appealed to their self-image as discerning seers. ...Nadine North captured this better than anyone: 'Obama was the new, new thing, and that's what we're all about here.'"

(Well, I have since stopped reading The Atlantic, but that's another story.)

Anyway, I may well post that image in the rear window of my car. Certainly it would be a refreshing corrective to the mind-numbingly common "COEXIST" and "End(THIS)War" and similar bumper stickers in the Philadelphia area.

I appreciate the presence of your blog, and other blogs of similar mindset. It is difficult to live in a society so deliberately detached from common sense and reality.

(Don't know if you'll receive this comment, as it's several days after you posted these images. Oh, well, at least I can ventilate!)

Yasher Koach,
Michael M. (East coast.)
