It's Not the Arrest Policy I'm Worried About...

...but the release policy.

I read this headline:-

IDF troops arrest 16 Palestinians in West Bank night ops

and thought to myself, 'haven't I read that before'?

And I did.

Yesterday:-

Israeli troops arrest 10 Palestinians in West Bank

August 14, 2008:-

Israel arrests 11 Palestinians in West Bank

August 8, 2008:-

Israel arrests 8 Palestinians in West Bank

August 6, 2008:-

Israeli forces arrest 7 Palestinians in Nablus

July 2, 2007:-

Security forces arrest 11-person Hamas cell in East Jerusalem

Now, you might think that this is depressing news or that when will it ever end or why don't the Pals. realize the futility of their "struggle"?

First of all, there is a method to this madness.

August 13, 2008:-

Palestinian teen carrying explosive arrested in W. Bank checkpoint

And secondly, what worries me is the release policy:-

Israel releases almost 200 Palestinian prisoners
'There won't be peace' without release of all prisoners: Abbas

Not to worry - after disengagement, dismantling of the security fences and checkpoints and the carving up of Jerusalem, they'll magically become peaceful neighbors, fully content even giddy, about the existence of Israel.
