- American born, my wife and I moved to Israel in 1970. We have lived at Shiloh together with our family since 1981. I was in the Betar youth movement in the US and UK. I have worked as a political aide to Members of Knesset and a Minister during 1981-1994, lectured at the Academy for National Studies 1977-1994, was director of Israel's Media Watch 1995-2000 and currently, I work at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem. I was a guest media columnist on media affairs for The Jerusalem Post, op-ed contributor to various journals and for six years had a weekly media show on Arutz 7 radio. I serve as an unofficial spokesperson for the Jewish Communities in Judea & Samaria.

I am an American student researching the Altalena. When did you write this op-ed? I'm afraid I don't speak Hebrew, so could you summarize the position your article takes? Where did you get your information for this article. If you had any interviewees who speak English, could you direct me to them? I would appreciate any advice you could offer. Please reply to this comment to reach me.
It was written at the time in response to a docu-drama to be screened on Israeli TV about the Altalena. My main points were the overcharged current use of the term Altalena in political discourse, the unnecessary need to identify the events in the TV film as actually happening by using the names Begin, Rabin, Ben-Gurion and Altalena but if the screenwriter claims protection of literary license, then he should have, if only thinly, disguised his characters as fiction.
I am information resources director at the Begin Center so, I know this material well and we have a research library.
But weren't you in today to see me?
I am rather confined in my research since I'm in the US. Is there any way I can access any of the records at the Begin center online? Are they in English? I'm looking in particular for primary sources and first person interviews. Thank you so much!

No, our archives and library/research material are not as yet uploaded, nor will they be in the forseeable future. Within a few months we hope our library catalogue will go online.
