What Would DovBear Write?

Well, this isn't quite a take-off on DovBear, but it comes close.

If you were reading DovBear's blog and came across violence, a house of religion, observant people, money, avarice, you just know he's referring to the latest Vishnitz scandal, right?

You don't know that scandal?

Here:-

Stone-throwing, break-ins and cries of goy

The main outward difference between members of the Vishnitz Hasidic sect and other Hasids are their hats: the knot on the bow faces right instead of left. On Passover, many Vishnitz Hasids in Bnei Brak's Kiryat Vishnitz quarter displayed another outward sign: their holiday clothing was stained with eggs, coffee or juice. Stones were also hurled at them. At least one boy, the great grandson of the Vishnitz grand rabbi, was hurt during one of the stormiest succession battles in the ultra-Orthodox world in recent memory.

The police are now trying to intercede between the Srulists (the supporters of Rabbi Israel, the grand rabbi's elder son) and the Mendelists (supporters of the younger son), and for the moment a cease-fire is holding.

But, no. I am referring to this story, from the other religion:-

Two stabbed and two arrested in convent fracas

Thu Apr 12, 8:19 PM ET

Two people were stabbed and two arrested in scuffles at a Cyprus convent on Thursday in a power struggle between rival factions, police said.

Witnesses said priests and nuns were involved in the night-time fracas at the Metamorphosis tou Sotiros convent, some 35 km (22 miles) south east of the Cypriot capital Nicosia.

Disputes there have been simmering for months over control of its speculated vast wealth.

The people injured and those arrested were laymen, police said. "Two required stitches for head injuries inflicted by sharp implements and two were detained for obstructing police," a police source told Reuters.

The convent follows the old Julian calendar and is not considered part of the official Orthodox Church of Cyprus. Last December a nun at the convent was hospitalised following an assault.

I'm hoping that there's no sexual inuuendo in this item.

DovBear, did I phrase it right?
