There's a Biblical reference, but, no, not by us:
A suspected rapist has been stoned to death in a case of vigilante justice in South Africa. The 32-year-old perp was dragged from a bar in a settlement in Cape Town, beaten with sticks, then stoned to death...The rape victim was a 15-year-old girl. The sexual assault had occurred earlier the same day. A local resident told journalists that justice was meted out because this was not the rapist's first offense.
