Yesha Council Booklet: It's Jewish! It's Vital! It's Realistic!

Yesha Council – the Council of Israeli Communities in Judea and Samaria has produced a special booklet in honor of US President Barack Obama's visit to Israel.

The book, in a deluxe format with a gold-embossed picture of President Obama, is called: Judea and Samaria: It's Jewish, It's Vital, It's Realistic.

The booklet provides comprehensive information, facts and data that are crucial to understanding Judea and Samaria as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Middle East. Each of the booklet's three chapters is devoted to a different subject: 1. "It's Jewish" – Israel's heritage in Judea and Samaria and the Jewish people's ties to the area, as well as issues of international law that tie us to Judea and Samaria. 2. "It's Vital" – the importance of Judea and Samaria from a security standpoint as well as being one of the main water sources of the state of Israel. 3. "It's Realistic" – the final chapter deals with the question of future co-existence of Arab and Israeli residents of Judea and Samaria and its effect on Israel's demographics.

The book concludes with Yesha Council's vision for the continued increased presence of Israelis in Judea and Samaria.

The English-language edition of the booklet will be published in honor of the American president's visit to Israel in a limited deluxe edition, together with a gold-embossed picture of President Obama. It will be distributed to the foreign press covering President Obama's visit to Israel, as well as to all the foreign embassies and delegations in Israel.

Yigal Dilmoni, Deputy CEO of Yesha Council, said, "This is the first time a booklet with comprehensive data about Judea and Samaria is being published, along with Yesha Council's vision for the continued development of the Israeli communities of Judea and Samaria. For many years, various American governments have tried to negotiate a settlement in the region, unsuccessfully so due to their lack of genuine familiarity with the facts on the ground. That is why the presentation of the facts in the booklet bolsters Israel's claim to Judea and Samaria and represents a value- and fact-based foundation for various solutions relating to the Arabs of Judea and Samaria. We are making every effort so that this booklet reaches the president of the United States and the White House staff."
