Rachel Ehrlich, former director of Tel Shiloh, an archaeologist and former classmate of my eldest daughter in Bet El's primary school a long time ago, died today, succumbing to cancer. She was buried at her home community of Ofra.
Here she is at Tel Shiloh:

She was mentioned here.
From her work.
I worked closely with her for a good while. We even were together in the lobby of the King David Hotel when we succeeded in obtaining a substantial promise of a contribution for the development of the Tel from the late Prof. Lander of Touro College.
She was determined, knowledgeable and a sweet girl. I enjoyed our meetings and discussions of archaeology, Shiloh, Biblical events and the needs of the Tel for it to become a major national tourist center.
May her memory be for a blessing and my condolences to her husband and young children.
