Response to petition "Democratic Jordan is Palestine"

The State of Israel respects the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its institutions.

The petition entitled "A Democratic Jordan is Palestine", which was published on February 24, 2011 in the on-line version of "Haaretz" reflects solely the opinion of its promoters and not the position of the government or the leaders of Israel.
The State of Israel respects the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its institutions, and is fully committed to the peace treaty signed between the two states in 1994.
