This week the violence in Sheikh Jarrah reached new peaks. A settler attacked a boy from the Gawi family, which who were evicted from their home last August. After Nasser Gawi attempted to protect him, the settler beat him and pointed his M16 at him. The police forces that were summoned took away the settler's weapon, but also gave Nasser a restraining order forbidding him to enter the neighborhood for 15 days. Following this, on Tuesday the police forces destroyed the protest tent in which the Gawi family live. After it was rebuilt, on Wednesday the police forces and the municipality arrived once more and threatened to demolish it.
