Jewish Women Also Give Birth at Checkpoints

There goes another Arab propaganda theme.

A woman gave birth to a baby in a car at the Hizme checkpoint on Sunday morning. The woman and her husband, who were stuck in traffic, were talked though the birth by an MDA telephone service center until an ambulance arrived and took them and their new baby to a nearby hospital.

A woman?

A JEWISH woman.

Romi Korsia of Rimmonim, on the Allon Road, didn't quite make it to the hospital today and at the Hizma checkpoint, stuck in a traffic jam. Her husband, Aviaz, tried using the oncoming lane but we only have two lanes and on that road, no way could he have jumped the queue without endangering traffic and lives. A police van came, escorted them out but at Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood, the baby decided to pop out. The NDA ambulance crew that eventually arrived needed but to snip the umbilical cord.

The baby's nickname is "Hizmi".

These things happen in California and they happen to local Arabs.

Shalom Yisrael,

Very interesting, I will use this example next time I respond to a media piece attacking Israel and our necessay checkpoints. Yes, these events happen everywhere - hence the commonly heard story of women giving birth in taxis.

Interesting if you could find out how many palestinian women giving birth at check points were talked through the birth via phone and got an ambulance dispach.

I would guess very few. They don't wish to seek any cooperation with Israeli authorities including medical services. For example, the water situation and sewerage problems are unsolved because the Pals. don't want any links with the infrastructure set up for the Jewish communities. It's a matter of principle for them but don't blame us for their ideological blindness.
