Betar UK Reunion

Between 1975 and 1977, I and my wife and two daughters, augmented by a third during the period, spent the time as emissaries to the newly reestablished Betar Zionist Youth Movement in the United Kingdom. The movement hadn't existed for a quarter of a century but through the efforts of Eli Joseph and others, with the support of the Herut President, Eric Graus, the movement arose in 1974 and I arrived a year and a bit later.

Branches were opened, winter and summer camps organized, and Israel trip, demonstrations, educational and cultural activities conducted, publications printed and much more.

I am glad to see that those who selected to come home to Israel are doing very well and that the Betar spirit and character is still strong among them all.

Sunday evening, Aug. 17, a reunion was held of those who made Aliyah or live here on a semi-permanent basis at the Regency Hotel (formerly the Hyatt).
