A Lonely Sign

Walking along the new road of Sderot HaNassi HaShishi east of Binyanei HaUmmah in the direction of the Knesset, just past the intersection with Sderot Zalman Shazar, I spotted this sign some 15 meters from the sidewalk:



Let's take a closer look:



It marks a battle which took place on January 11, 1948 when Lechi liberated the Arab neighborhood of Sheikh Bader from which sniping had taken place against the Jewish neighborhood of Zichron Yosef and from which raids had been launched against Jewish traffic in the area as well as the Romema area.
