Metro-West Goes West Bank?

Well, 'going West Bank' in the sense that you have Molotov cocktails being tossed at you:

Molotov Cocktail Thrown Into the Home of a Rabbi

The rabbi, Nosson Schuman, was able to put out the fire, which the authorities said was caused by a Molotov cocktail that crashed through a second-story window of the Victorian home where the rabbi and his family live, in Rutherford, N.J....Investigators found evidence that a total of five Molotov cocktails had been hurled in the attack, about 4:30 a.m. It was the second case of arson involving a synagogue in Bergen County, N.J., since the year began, said Michael B. Ward, the special agent in charge of the Newark office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The first attack was last week, when an accelerant was ignited on the siding of a synagogue in Paramus...In addition to those two arsons, the authorities are investigating two December cases in which drawings of swastikas were found on Bergen County synagogues in Hackensack and Maywood.

...“It wasn’t an easy throw,” said the Bergen County prosecutor, John L. Molinelli. “I believe this person knew that it was a residence, that it was somebody’s bedroom.”

Also at the home when the attack occurred were Rabbi Schuman’s wife and their five children, as well as his father and mother-in-law...Mr. Molinelli said that he thought the attack was “certainly a hate crime.”

“We no longer look upon this as something that is unique to the Jewish community,” Mr. Molinelli said. “This is now affecting the entire Bergen County and North Jersey community.”

And added news:

Governor Christie is urging vigilance and dispatching law enforcement officials to Bergen County after a spate of recent attacks against the Jewish community, including the firebombing early Wednesday morning.

Christie has asked officials from the State Police, Attorney General’s Office, and Homeland Security to meet with Jewish leaders in Paramus Thursday night to discuss security and the ongoing investigation.

“Clearly there is a purposeful campaign by one or more persons to do bodily injury to members of the Jewish community in Bergen County,” Christie said. “I will not stand for it.”
