Sheik Raed Salah...was imprisoned for assaulting a police officer and leading a violent demonstration near Jerusalem's Old City. He was protesting Israeli renovation work near the compound known to Jews as the Temple Mount and Muslims as the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
"I do not regret a single second in prison," Salah told the crowd of mostly middle-aged men who crowded to shake his hand, hug him and kiss him reverentially on the cheeks. "Nothing is more righteous than the cause of Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem."
The crowd responded with its own cheers, "We'll sacrifice ourself for Al-Aqsa, Oh Raed!"
Gentlemen of the press, that location is also known to the Christian world as the Temple Mount.
And psssst. The Muslim world knows it as the Temple Mount as well: in Arabic, it's called Bait-al-Maqdis, house of the sacred as per "Encyclopedia of Islam (1971), s.v. “Bayt al-Maqdis.”"; "Jerusalem is known in the hadith shareef as Baitul-Maqdis or Muqaddas (meaning holy)"; "Hazrat Maymoona (radhiyallahu anhu) (the wife of Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) asked him about the virtue of Baitul-Muqaddas (Jerusalem), to which he replied: 'Indeed, Baitul-Muqaddas is a wonderful place to stay in. Whoever will offer one salah therein, will get the reward of a thousand salah.'"
"The Temple Mount (Hebrew: הַר הַבַּיִת, Har haBáyith), also known as Mount Moriah and by Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary (Bait-ul-Muqaddas) (Arabic: الحرم القدسي الشريف, al-haram al-qudsī ash-sharīf)".
So, let's stop this fake exclusivity for Jews.
