In his Oct. 1 letter regarding the speech Israel's Foreign Minister made in the United Nations, when Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that peace with the Palestinians requires “decades”, Seymour Reich wrote that "The speech diminishes Mr. Netanyahu’s credibility".
Logic would suggest another possibility: that Minister Lieberman is more correct in his perception. Given the continued Palestinian Authority support for official incitement against Israel and Jews in educational textbooks and school programs and in local media, the continued lax attitude towards terror attacks against Israelis as well as a policy of ethnic cleansing in refusing to countenance continued Jewish residency in the disputed territories of Judea and Samaria and denying any Jewish rights to Jerusalem, a period of decades would be the minimum time to correct such perspectives that are inimical to peace.
