Ever Heard Of Bayt-'Awwa?

No?

بيت عوّا ?

Well, first of all, here's how part of it looked from Israel, near Amatzia just before the Six Day's War:

At this site, I found current views:

A problem is that this site has two "Bayt 'Awwa"s. Ours is the SW one.

Back in January 2006, during the PA elections, it was reported

At 1329 gmt, Ma'an reports from Hebron:..."In Bayt Awwa Village, west of Hebron, a Palestinian police officer was lightly injured by an individual at the village's election centre."

But back when I lived at Amatzia, in early 1967, the place was a jumping-off location for terrorist cross-border incursions, what was referred to as "infiltrations". I've already mentioned at this blog that on the evening of Israel's Independence Day in May 1967, they penetrated the security fence and placed bombs that exploded - luckily for us - under a newly constructed but not yet occupied house.

There were no "settlements" at the time nor any "occupation" unless, of course, you come to the realization that all of Israel and the Zionist project is what irks, bothers and enrages Arabs and that "freezing" construction, or withdrawing from Gaza or other territories that are beyond the Green Line are the answer the Arabs will accept as a solution to the conflict.
