Signaling displeasure with a staunch ally, a senior Obama administration official said Thursday that the United States was puzzled by Britain’s announcement last week that it was re-establishing contact with the political wing of the militant group Hezbollah.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the delicacy of the matter, said the British government had informed the “previous administration” of its diplomatic overture, suggesting that the Obama administration felt somewhat blindsided by the initiative.
The United States, the official said, wanted Britain to explain “the difference between the political, social and military wings of Hezbollah because we don’t see the difference between the integrated leadership that they see.” [I'd like to hear about that, too]
In its announcement, the British Foreign Office said it would take up “carefully selected” contacts with the political wing of Hezbollah but continue to shun the group’s military wing.
I doubt it but still, it is a silly but typical British response to aggression. Isn't that how they almost manged to lose World War Two by allowing it to start? What was that, ah, yes, but of course: appeasement.

This of course presupposes that the Obama administration is pro-Israel. Do you think it is, and if so, what has Obama done to make you think so?
I think I'd be among the last 5 persons on this plant to presume that Obama is pro-Israel. I did have a question mark there, not an period or exclamation point. ;->)
And "browning" is neat , no?
I think it depends on what does "being pro-Israel" mean to you?
The best way for Obama to resolve the conflict is to be unbiased, pro-peace, and not pro-Israel or pro-Palestine. But unfortunatelly for all of us that is not the case in the White House.
