Follow-up on "Vashti"

Remember the pre-Purim Vashti story? (here)

Well, the follow up is below plus a special Jewish activity:-

Westchester Woman: I'm A Dominatrix, Not A Prostitute

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- A self-described dominatrix who presided as "mistress" of a Victorian home on a four-acre Westchester County estate has pleaded not guilty to a charge of prostitution.

As a lone supporter shouted, "The government doesn't belong in our bedroom!" Sandra Chemero, wearing stiletto heels, purple pants and a dark wool coat, appeared in Bedford Justice Court on Thursday on the charges of prostitution and criminal possession of a weapon, a stun gun.

There's nothing illegal about employing whips, chains and leather straps while working as a dominatrix. Chemero, 46, was arrested last week after a police investigation turned up evidence of prostitution.

Judge Kevin Quaranta allowed Chemero to post $1,800 and remain free until a hearing April 8.

Chemero, 46, began renting the Bedford Hills property she called "The Sovereign Estate" last year from the Khal Adas Kashau yeshiva next door.

The tony suburb is home to the likes of Martha Stewart, Ralph Lauren and Glenn Close.

"The complaints were not sufficient. Obviously, we deny all allegations," Chemero's lawyer, George Galgano, said Thursday.

Chemero used a Web site to advertise her wares, promising the house on four acres in New York's northern suburbs was "a place like no other. ... There is something unique about serving your mistress in a home designed and appointed especially for her enjoyment."

Photos on the Web site showed the dominatrix in spiked heels and a low-cut, one-piece black outfit, with a chain around her waist.

The investigation began in December after police received an anonymous letter alleging there was a noticeable increase in traffic at the residence and a concern of "business of a sexual nature."

Police surveillance confirmed cars coming and going, and a search warrant was subsequently obtained. Police seized several items, including business records and a laptop computer, and an assortment of sex toys.

The yeshiva conducted a manual and spiritual cleaning of the property after learning about the activities.

And this:-

Where Chemero is living now is not widely known. A rabbi at the school next door to the home said that after the arrest she was ordered to pack her things and leave.

And this:-

The rabbi still can't believe it. Nor can his flock. In one New York City suburb, a group of Orthodox Jews are stunned by what was allegedly going on in a house owned by a rabbinical school.

They'd rented it out to Sandra Chemero, never suspecting that she's a dominatrix, complete with whips, chains and leather. Evidently, they'd never seen her Web site, which includes a picture of Chemero in spiked heels and a low-cut black outfit, with a chain around her waist.

And while there's nothing illegal about that, police say something else was going on inside the home. They've arrested Chemero on prostitution and weapons possession charges.

None of that passes muster with the owners, who are evicting Chemero and clearing out all her goodies. But beyond that, the rabbi says they'll have to have a ritual cleaning, as well. He calls the whole ordeal "a calamity."
