V for Victory
The heartening, nay, enthralling and inspiring photo of platoon commander Tomer Bohadna being wheeled into Rambam Hosptial in Haifa.
He took a bullet that pierced a vein in his neck and the doctor is applying pressure with his hand on the wound, which he did for 20 full minutes, in order to stop the bleeding and save his life.
Afterwords, Bohadna explained that he knew that pictures are always taken in the entrance corridor of the emergency ward and he did not want the enemy to get any satisfaction and so, he displayed the "V" sign because "that's how a fighter behaves, even until his last breath."
Tomer, we salute you.
