Honor?

Prosecutors say a Jordanian man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing to death his elder sister, 24, as she slept because he believed she was having an affair.

The case is the first report of a so-called "honor killing" this year in Jordan, where about 20 women are killed annually by male relatives over perceived slights to the family name.

Criminal Court prosecutor Ahmed Omari said the 21-year-old man killed his sister before dawn Wednesday in her bed, stabbing her 10 times with a kitchen knife.

Omari said the unidentified suspect was arrested hours later and charged with premeditated murder.

He "believed"?

Well, faith is belief.

Rishon Letzion man stabs wife to death as daughter, 12, looks on

Israel Police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his wife to death in Rishon Letzion as the couple's 12-year-old daughter looked on.

Paramedics rushed to the scene shortly before 7 A.M. Sunday after receiving a call from a next-door neighbor, and pronounced the woman dead.

The initial investigation suggests that an argument arose between the couple, and was witnessed by their young daughter. The husband proceeded to stab his wife to death.

The daughter hurried to a neighbor, who reported the crime.

The victim is said to have complained on two previous occasions that her husband threatened her life.

a. you're right.

b. but there is a slight difference in the paradigms of the cases. there is domestic violence and there is 'honor killings'.

c. i am not sure that this isn't a case of the Ethiopians.

Domestic violence is horrific and inexcusable. However, it's usually not based on the arcane tribal concept that the honor of a family depends on the virginity of its women. You're comparing rotten apples to idiots.

Gali - "Reasons to abuse and to kill are different, the result the same."

Hmmm.

If I make love to a woman or rape her, no difference? Act is the same?

Your thinking is a bit off as are your values. And I hope you are writing this and not your husband, because if he is, I hope you are alright.

Haha, no, my husband doesn't even know i am writing this. Don't worry about me.

You are questioning my values again.
yet, i don't have a blog with pictures of women in bikini, showing off their fake boobs.

"If I make love to a woman or rape her, no difference? Act is the same?"
No difference for a man, huge different for a woman. So let me reiterate my last statement. Reasons for abuser are different, the result is the same, tragic for a victim.

Ayelet, the difference in the frame of reference doesnt make one better than the other.
