Rav Dov Lior: Celluar Phones Permitted on Shabbat In Hebron

Following an attempted rape last Friday night, a week ago, Rav Dov Lior issued the following instructions:



Translation:

"Following the recent incidents that occured last Shabbat in Hevron, I have come to the conclusion that the security situation has deteriorated such that it is permissbale for one to carry a mobile/cell phone in one's pocket when going down to Hebron [from Kiryat Arba] or by those who reside there so as to report to the Security Officer in order that these harsh events should be be repeated.

And He, The God of the Campaigns of Israel, shall send his aid from the Source of Sanctity [Temple] and show us wondrous deeds and salvation as in the days of the Hasmoneans.
