Such An Ignorant Person

Here's the thinking of a Jew for Peace:-

To the Editor:

It is good to read Gadi Taub call on the Israeli government to stop the religious settlers from undermining peace talks and to recognize that the future of Israel relies on a Palestinian state alongside Israel. The Obama administration should take his words as its core principle in guiding the talks starting this week.

President Obama must use all the carrots and sticks, mostly sticks, at his disposal to persuade the Israeli leaders to extend the moratorium on settlement expansion. This should not be difficult considering that all settlements are illegal.

The United States must be ready to bring the settlement issue to the Security Council. If religious Jews want to live in the West Bank, they may continue to do so, as Jewish citizens of Palestine, not as Israelis.

The writer is the action coordinator for L.A. Jews for Peace.

Now, let's ask Mahmoud Abbas what he thinks about all this:

Abbas to Jews: This land is not yours!

...Speaking to reporters accompanying him on the flight to Washington, Abbas told the Jews that Judea and Samaria (the so-called "West Bank") is not theirs, and suggested Jewish settlers living there would be wise to pack up and leave.

Asked by the editor of the Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency what he wanted to tell Israelis living in the West Bank ahead of the peace talks, Abbas replied:

"The settlers are sitting on lands that are not theirs. I tell them that this is not your land and you know that. You can't impose facts on the ground, because the settlements are illegal and will be removed."

Hey, Jeff, you know what, if you ask, the majoirty of Arabs here think that Tel Aviv is a settlement and their children are being taught that.

Read this:

PA TV to kids: Israeli cities Haifa, Jaffa, Lod, Ramle, Acre are all "occupied cities"

Official Palestinian Authority TV continues to teach children that all of Israel is "occupied Palestine." A repeating message on the children's show The Best Home, currently broadcast three times a week during the month of Ramadan, is that all Israeli cities are "occupied" Palestinian cities.

The PA TV host refers to cities in Israel alternately as "1948 occupied cities," "occupied cities" or "occupied territories." The Israeli cities described as Palestinian cities include Haifa, Jaffa, Lod, Ramle and Acre.

Nothing New

Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik report:

Fatah official:
"Our goal has never been peace.
Peace is a means; the goal is Palestine."

The PA will resume violence and terror against Israel when Fatah is "capable," and "according to what seems right," Fatah official Kifah Radaydeh says in a PA TV interview. Radaydeh, Fatah Regional Committee member, Jerusalem, states openly that peace is not a goal for Fatah:

"It has been said that we are negotiating for peace, but our goal has never been peace. Peace is a means; the goal is Palestine."

Radaydeh says that "armed struggle" has not been ruled out and will continue, depending on how "capable" the PA forces are.

Click here to see the PATV interview with Fatah official, Kifah Radaydeh.

Transcript:

"Fatah is facing a challenge, because [Fatah] says that we perceive peace as one of the strategies, but we say that all forms of the struggle exist, and we do not rule out the possibility of the armed struggle or any other struggle. The struggle exists in all its forms, on the basis of what we are capable of at a given time, and according to what seems right...
What exactly do we want? It has been said that we are negotiating for peace, but our goal has never been peace. Peace is a means; and the goal is Palestine. I do not negotiate in order to achieve peace. I negotiate for Palestine, in order to achieve a state."
[PA TV July 7, 2009]

It should be noted that when Fatah refers to "Palestine", it is routinely referring to all of Israel.

And she seems like so nice a lady.

Pals. Promote Obama

Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook of Palestine Media Watch are reporting that Palestinians are campaigning quite actively for Obama.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida of Oct. 26, 2008 published that

"23 year old Ibrahim Abu Jayyab sits by the computer in the Nusairat refugee camp [in the Gaza Strip] trying to call American citizens, in order to convince them to vote for the Democratic candidate for president, Barack Obama...

Most of the Palestinians feel hatred towards USA, whose administrations have always stood by Israel...

Abu Jayyab's idea is to make telephone calls to American citizens through Internet sites that allow making free calls... in order to use them [to make phone calls] for the campaign supporting Obama. Abu Jayyab says: We dial random numbers and try to call people without knowing their identity or their affiliation...

He said that a large number of Palestinians dislike their activity... [those] who do not see any difference between the American politicians, because of the hostility that they feel towards America. But his hope is that their activity will have some impact [in support of Obama]."

Not only money, eh?
